IPC/WHMA A-620 Certification
Marq-One’s IPC/WHMA A-620 training course reviews requirements and acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies.
What is IPC/WHMA A-620?
Electrical and electronic products have multiple connection points and related assembly activities. Marq-One’s IPC/WHMA A-620 training is an inspection course designed to help identify what is considered acceptable quality workmanship during the assembly of the product. This training complements the IPC/WHMA A610, and will give delegates the knowledge to inspect with confidence.
While delegates should have knowledge of industry language and a basic understanding of cable manufacture, wire harnessing and soldering, there are no specific prerequisites. This course covers the requirements and associated acceptance across multiple product classes.
Crucial for operators involved in the manufacture of cable and wiring harness assemblies, this is a must have for anyone involved with assembly or inspection of cable and wire harness assemblies.
IPC/WHMA A-620 standard is aimed at those who are responsible for manufacturing or inspecting/assessing or assembling cable and wire harnesses.
Job roles that should consider this training are Assembly Operators, Quality Inspectors, Manufacturing Engineers, Production Managers, Goods-in Inspectors, Managers and Senior Leaders who should understand the importance of assembly quality.
If you’re looking for more basic solder or handling training for your team, please consider Marq-One’s electronics training courses.
Marq-One’s IPC/WHMA A-620 course is ideally suited for any team or person who work within an electronics manufacturing industry team would benefit from this standard and training.
Focusing on high-performance industries such as motorsport, aerospace and defence, all roles involved in the build, test or inspection of cable and wire harnesses should have a thorough understanding of the acceptance criteria for all three classes of product:
The training and its standard covers all three classes – Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3. In particular, this course looks at all aspects of cable and wiring harness assembly, including inspection criteria including:
- Crimp Termination & Insulation Displacement Connections
- Soldered Terminations & High Voltage Applications
- Connector Assembly, Over Moulding and Potting
- Ultrasonic Welding & Splices
- Marking Labels & Final Assembly
- Co-Axial & Bi-Axial Assemblies
- Shielding & Protective Coatings
Training can be delivered on-site at your business or at Marq-One’s dedicated training centre so you can upskill your team in the most cost-effective way for your business.
Certificates will be provided on successful completion of the course. The certification course usually takes 3 days and is valid for 2 years.
