Puralloy® Grade 99C (Sn99.3/Ag0.7) is a lead-free solder alloy incorporating silver and tin with a melting point of between 227°C. Grade 99C has been used extensively within plumbing applications following legislation regarding the use of lead in potable water systems. Grade 99C is ideal for all soldering applications involving brass and copper components. The high tin content gives an excellent finish to all solder joints, whilst the addition of copper lowers its melting temperature. Grade 99C exhibits good mechanical properties, good wetting, and good capillary actions. For plumbing applications Fluxrite or Powerflow paste fluxes are recommended. For more general copper and brass work, Bakers Soldering Flux should be considered.
